The KFX400 is Kawasaki's new ultra-high-performance sport-model ATV. It is powered by a 398cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, four-valve, four-stroke engine that is matched to a five-speed-plus-reverse manual transmission. Electric start is standard as are dual halogen headlights.

The chassis is comprised of a high-tensile steel alloy frame and subframe, and weighs 370 pounds dry. Suspension duties are handled by dual front A-arms with pre-load adjustable shocks and an aluminum-alloy rear swingarm with preload adjustment.

The KFX400 rides on aluminum-alloy wheels and stopping power is provided by triple disc brakes.
